The Galaxy S5 is one of Samsung’s newest and most popular Android devices, so there is no surprise that we have also received a Galaxy S5 Mini version of it. In case of already being the owner of this device and thinking of rooting it, you probably already know that this procedure will open up several new possibilities for your Smartphone. A rooted device can be customized in an infinite number of ways such as installing a custom ROM, as well as new kernels, themes and animations, the ability to get rid of Samsung bloat ware apps, the access to more advanced applications such as root call blockers or root memory managers, as well as to over clocking your device’s processor. Step 1: You should fully backup your Android device before rooting it. Backup all your SMS, Backup/Export Contacts, Backup APN settings. You can take help from our article on Tutorial for creating backup of Android device without root access.
Step 2: You should Backup all apps on your device, unrooted users can follow this method procedure to backup apps. If you have already rooted your device then use Titanium to Backup and restore apps and cache data.
Step 3: You should enable USB debugging on your device, to activate USB Debug go to “Settings>Developer options” and check the USB debug option box. Problem enabling USB Debugging you can follow article on How to enable USB debugging on Jelly Bean, Ice Cream Sandwich and Gingerbread.
Step 4: There should be 50% or more amount of battery juice on your device. To know how much charge your device is having you can use our tutorial on how to get battery percentage on Status bar.
Step 5: You should disable security apps and programs like Antivirus and Firewall on your Android device as they may interrupt the procedure.
How to Root Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini
Step1 – Download the CF Auto Root zip file.
Step 2 – Extract the zip contents and then save the CF Auto Root tar.md5 file on your computer
Step 3 – You must also download ODIN 3.09 and extract the contents of this zip file and save them on your PC.
Step 4 – Power off your Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini and boot the device in Android Download Mode
Step 5 – Launch the ODIN 3.09 exe on your PC
Step 6 – Use the original USB data cable and connect your Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini phone with your PC
Step 7 – Wait for ODIN to detect the Smartphone and then continue to the next step
Step 8 – If your device is not detected by ODIN, then you need to re-install the Samsung USB Drivers
Step 9 – Return to ODIN window and click the AP button
Step 10 – Load the CF Auto Root tar.md5 file and verify if the Re-Partition option is disabled; don’t change any other default settings of ODIN;
Step 11 – Hit the Start button to begin the root process for your Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini Smartphone and don’t press any buttons until the root is achieved.
Step 12 – After root is complete you will notice that you’re the handset has rebooted and that ODIN finally displays the ‘PASS’ alert;
Step 13 – Now, you can enter your Google Account info and that’s all done.
