The device comes with many mesmerizing and better features if compared to the predecessor. But in spite of all this we know that there are many people who are looking for the procedure to root this device as it brings lots of new features on it and will speed it up. So in this article we are going to teach you to root your galaxy grand 2. The procedure is mentioned below.

Step 1: You should fully backup your Android device before rooting it. Backup all your SMS, Backup/Export Contacts, Backup APN settings. You can take help from our article on Tutorial for creating backup of Android device without root access.
Step 2: You should Backup all apps on your device, unrooted users can follow this method procedure to backup apps. If you have already rooted your device then use Titanium to Backup and restore apps and cache data.
Step 3: You should enable USB debugging on your device, to activate USB Debug go to “Settings>Developer options” and check the USB debug option box. Problem enabling USB Debugging you can follow article on How to enable USB debugging on Jelly Bean, Ice Cream Sandwich and Gingerbread.
Step 4: There should be 50% or more amount of battery juice on your device. To know how much charge your device is having you can use our tutorial on how to get battery percentage on Status bar.
Step 5: You should disable security apps and programs like Antivirus and Firewall on your Android device as they may interrupt the procedure.
Download the following files and transfer it to a separate folder on your computer for convenience.

How to Root Samsung Galaxy Grand 2
Step 1- Extract the Odin zip file, Latest Odin_ v3.09.zip on your computer to get the following files:
- Odin3 v3.09.exe
Step 2 – Now, similarly extract theGenNxt_PreRooted_SMG7102Grand2_BalliBoxer.zip and place the Odin flash able file in the same folder in which you extracted Latest Odin_v3.09.zip.
Step 3 – Disconnect the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 from PC if connected and double-click the Odin3-v3.09.exe file to open Odin.
Step 4 – Boot your Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 into Download Mode. For this:
- Power off your phone first and wait for 6-7 seconds after display is off
- Press and hold these 3 buttons together until you see Warning! Screen: Volume Down + Power + Home. It’s done.
Step 5 – Connect your Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 to PC and Odin window will show an Added!! Message in bottom left box.
Step 6 – Load the Odin flash able recovery file into Odin by Clicking on the AP button on Odin and selecting the Odin flash able file.
Step 7 – Now in the Option section of Odin, make sure that Re-Partition box is unchecked. However, Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time boxes remain checked.
Step 8 – Double check the above two steps for safety.
Step 9 – Now, click the Start button to begin flashing, and wait until you see a PASS! Message in Odin’s top left box
Step 10 – When you get PASS! Message, your device will restart automatically and you can then disconnect your phone from PC.
This is all what you have to do and now your device will be rooted and will make you feel better than before.
