Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo is small as its name sounds and has a 3inch touchscreen display, an 850MHz CPU with 512MB RAM that just about gets the job done and a 2MP camera on the back that’s okay enough for impromptu snaps if you don’t have a good standalone camera lying around you. How to install Custom Recovery on the Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo (GT-S5310)

Step 1 – Extract the file you downloaded above to a folder on your desktop.

Step 2 – From the extracted folder, double-click on Odin3 v3.07.exe to run the tool.

Step 3 – Put your device into Download mode.  To do this, power down your device and press and hold the Volume Down + Home + Power buttons until you enter Download mode.

Step 4 – Click on PDA button, locate CWM-recovery-s5310-ODIN.tar.md5 you downloaded above and click on OK to load it on Odin.  The ID: COM field on Odin should now light up yellow to signify that your device is connected and recognized properly.  If not, reinstall Samsung Kies and try again.

Step 5 – Make sure that the Re-Partition and Flash Lock are unchecked, this is important as you might brick your device if these options are ticked

Step 6 – Click on Start

Step 7 – Once done, reboot your device

Now you have installed custom recovery on your device.

How to root Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo (GT-S5310)

Step 1 – Download

Step 2 – Connect your device to your PC and copy to your device’s SD card.

Step 3 – Boot your device to recovery mode.  For this, with the device powered off, press and hold the Volume Up + Home + Power buttons until your device boots into recovery.

Step 4 – Use the Volume Up and Down buttons to highlight ‘Install zip from sdcard‘and then use the home button to select the option.

Step 5 – Navigate to the location of and flash the zip file.

Step 6 – Once flashed, go to the main menu and select ‘reboot system now ‘it’s all done.
