Those of you who have rooted this device and are presently on any custom ROM’s might want to revert back to the stock firmware because of any reason, then here it is. We have summed up a simple and easy tutorial for you which will help you to install the stock firmware on Galaxy Note 3. This tutorial can be used on nearly all the major variants of the Galaxy Note 3, you can check the list below for the device list:

You should download the correct firmware first because the Galaxy Note 3 comes in different models based upon the processor type and network connectivity as well as carriers. So, before proceeding ensure that you have downloaded the correct firmware for your device. If you want to check your model, just go to “Settings > General > About” and there you will find the “Model Number”. You may also find 2 different types of firmware for a single model. These firmwares are commonly known as Branded and Unbranded firmwares. Suppose your device is locked by a carrier/ network provider, it means it is a branded one. Therefore, you must only install a firmware which is carrier specific. Similarly, if you are able to use a SIM card on your phone then it means your device is Unbranded model and therefore you can install any firmware which is for the Unbranded Note 3.

Once downloaded, extract the same into a folder onto your desktop so that it can be located easily.

How to Install Stock Firmware on Galaxy Note 3:

Step 1: First of all, download and install Odin onto your Windows or if you are on Linux/ Mac, then you can use Heimdall.

Step 2: Now, reboot your device so as to enter it in Download Mode. To do so, press and hold the Volume Down + Home + Power buttons together until the screen turns ON. Then, press the Volume Up button, when asked to do so, to successfully boot into Download Mode.

Step 3: Next, open up Odin and connect your phone to the PC using original USB cable i.e. the cable that came with it.

Step 4: The ID: COM section in Odin will turn Yellow, once it has detected your device.

Step 5: Now, click on “AP” from Odin (for Odin3 3.09) and then from the folder where you have extracted the firmware package choose the “.tar.md5” file.

Step 6: Next, hit the “Start” button from Odin to begin the flashing process. It will few minutes for completion of the flashing process.

Step 7: Once the flashing procedure has completed, you will get a “PASS!!” message in Odin and will reboot automatically. Booting first time after flashing may take a longer time than usual, so don’t panic.

  1. Is it possible/advisable to flash a Telus firmware (Lollipop5.0) to a unlocked (AT&T) SM-N900A currently running lollipop 5.0? I am currently using it on Telus network without any issue.
