Samsung faced some issues after the Apple abduction but now they are moving swiftly ahead. Samsung targets to bring Jelly Bean update to all its latest devices. Note 10.1 will be the first Samsung’s Tablet to get the Jelly bean update officially. We recently recieved an update about the leaked Jelly Bean firmware for Note 10.1. The Firmware is Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean N8000DDALI1 has the updated Note apps and reported to be stable by many users. The firmware has been packed is a zip file that can be flashed using custom recovery. Please ensure that you have the Galaxy Note 10.1 Wi-Fi + 3G N8000 variant the firmware will not work on Note 10.1 N8010 Wi-Fi only model. This is a leaked pre-release so we are expecting some minor bugs. We also preempt that some new Tablets like Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 and Note N7000 will be next devices to get the Jelly Bean update.

Tip: Root Galaxy Note 10.1 and install recovery

Pre-Requisite:

  1. Well! In this updating process you need to make a backup of data, apps and settings of your device such as contacts, SMS, MMS, APN settings, MMS settings, bookmarks, call logs, images, videos, songs etc. As the process is going to wipe every data from your device so you must be prepare for that.
  2. All security suites like firewall and antivirus must be disabled on your computer as well as in device so that it will no longer be able to interrupt the process.
  3. Please ensure that you have charged your Galaxy device’s battery to minimum 85%. It is recommended for the successful completion of the installation process. If your device turns off in between the process than it will be very hard for you to restart again.
  4. Navigate through the path ‘Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging’ and then tick the USB Debugging option box to turn on the USB Debugging.
  5. You need to flash the stock DDALH1 firmware on Note as this is required to flash the update.

How to install Official Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update on Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1

Step 1.   On clicking the download link you will get a file named ‘GT-N8000_N8000DDALI1-OTA-N8000DDALH1_INU_312166583.zip’ of 297 MB. So, after the completing the download you need to place the zip file to the root of the sd card.

Step 2.   When you are done, turn off the tablet to boot into the stock recovery. In order to get into the recovery you need to press and hold the Volume Up button along with Power button until the screen turns on and when you will find that then leave the Power button but still keep holding the Volume Up button till the recovery mode appears on the screen.

Step 3.   In the recovery mode, you need to select ‘install zip from sd card’ and once again you need to select ‘choose zip from sd card’. Then browse into the sd card and select the GT-N8000_N8000DDALI1-OTA-N8000DDALH1_INU_312166583.zip file to start flashing the update for Jelly Bean OTA.

Step 4.   After the completion of update process, your Galaxy Note will reboot automatically. If it doesn’t then do it manually by selecting reboot system now option from recovery main menu to restart your device with newly installed Jelly Bean Android 4.1.1 firmware.
