Micromax has recently launched the new Android ICS preinstalled tablet Funbook in the Indian market at the price of Rs 6499. It seems like Kindle Fire avatar, or a replicate of Koby Kyros. This is a capacitive screen enabled 7 inch Android ICS based Tablet with 1.2 Ghz Processor and Mali 400 GPU. Well mali 400 is the same GPU available on Galaxy Note so we are expecting a lot of quality performance. At the price of Rs 6.5K this is the best Tablet you can get.

Micromax Funbook Pros and COns

The Tablet has a 7inch multi-touch capacitive touch screen. The screen quality is not that great but video quality is fine. We have tried to play some HD video and it responded well. The multi-touch works fine. Screen is touch responsive but there is a big strip on all side of screen that makes it look odd. Screen is bad in terms of viewing angle. We consider Tablet is a personal gadget and you should watch movie alone so it’s perfectly fine with viewing angle.

The Tablet is thin as Nexus S and weigts around 350Gms, it’s the most lightest and thinnest tab available in India. There are 3 hard buttons for used as menu, home and back key. Capacitive buttons would have been preferred but that may have given a bump to the price. There is no calling or 3G facility. However, there is a front camera for video chatting and you can connect to internet via Wi-Fi or a 3G dongle. There is no USB or MicroUSB connectivity that is a very negative face of Tablet. There is a 3.5 mm headphone jack, HDMI slot and a mini USB slot. You would not find compatible cables easily to take care of default cables.

1.2 Ghz Cortex A8 processor is paired with Dual Mali-400 GPU and 512MB RAM that makes it run Android ICS Smooth and you will have a great gaming experience too. But there is no list of games compatible with it. We presume that all Galaxy Note games will run on it as it has same GPU. For backup it has a 2500mAh battery which can provide basic 2-3 hours use time. A battery would have given it some extra points.

Micromax has launched this Android 4.0.3 ICS enabled Tablet for Rs 6,490 and you will get a Tata Photon plus dongle and 1 month usage free with it. There is no other Tablet which can compete with it at this price.
