We have already told you about how to the Indian market getting flooded with ICS based budget tablets. Micromax Funbook was one of them and created lot of buzz in the tech town. We have already reviewed it and told you about how you can root your Micromax Funbook and install CWM recovery. In the previous post we promised that we will be bringing up the latest JetMod 5.0 ROM for Micromax Funbook. Developer claims that this is the first custom ROM made for Micromax funbook. They have taken the base firmware and removed all bloatware and unnecessary apps. They have removed the stock launcher and added the new fluent trebuchet launcher, added are new file manager, CM9 boot animation and few other features.
Update July: bugs has been resolved, beats audio added, Xloud, Smooth scroll and Adrenaline(Check out the screenshots below)
Update August: Developers has updated the CM9 ICS codes, added updatedApex launcher, Notes application, CM9 FIle manager, New optimized kernel and boot animation. There are few more tweaks and management codes added to make ROM more stable and tuff. Still users of this ROM are facing issue with data card, it looks like no update will be coming as developers has abandoned it.
Pre-Requisite:
1. Installing ROM will require to wipe data on your device, so backup your contacts, texts, emails, settings and other essential data.
2. Create a backup your current ROM using CWM recovery. If you have not rooted your device yet then follow this tutorial.
3. Enable USB debugging. Tap on settings>>Applications>>Development>>USB Debugging.

Step 1. The ROM you will download, will be in a zip file. Connect your Tab to computer in USB storage mode and transfer the zip file to SD card.
Step 2. Once the transfer is complete, disconnect the Tablet. Shut down the Tab. Now, press the Home/option and power button together for 5 seconds and the Tablet will boot into Recovery mode.
Step 3. Use volume down button to select “wipe data/ factory reset” and press the power button to execute. Now, select “Wipe Cache partition”.
Step 4. Now, select “Install zip from SD card”. and select the zip file we have transferred to SD card in step 1.
Step 5. It will take few minutes to install the new ROM. Once the process complete you will need to reboot the device. For this select “+++Go Back+++” and then choose “Reboot system now”.
Step 6. Funbook will restart and the new CM9 bootscreen will welcome you. You can go ahead with settings and browse the new ROM. This ROM can easily get you a score of 3500+ on benchmark.

Sir, I need to know whether my reliance netconnect + will work on jetmod coz in the stock rom i cant even create an APN
will this really work on the funbook and does this enable us to update the funbook to a jelly bean. i am new to the android world.can u please help
WEll JetMod is a nice ROM, but there are some issues. I would suggest you to wait for Jelly Bean firmware to arrive.
will this jet mod will enable funbook to use any other dongle than photon+
I dont things Micromax Funbook handles any other dongle.

sir my funbook is already rooted i tested it with root checker from playstore and tried to install jet mod without installing clockworkmod recovery but it showed installation aborted

check power connection etc, Try to boot into recovery mode and flash stock firmware.
sir i have installed cwm recovry on my fb after that i installed jet mod rom the installation was succsess but after that the booting stops at funbook logo icant even boot into cwm recovry because when i plug in the charger it starts to boot immidiately so pls help me

Why, not go to xda thread and download the latest package and try to flash it, I am sure it will work.
i want to do something new on my tab and i installed cwm manager i opened it and there was some thing download rom when i opened there was super user and cwm and in that i found some downloads i download it and click to reset on rebboot and my tablet has changed and its not a good upgradation it has a drop down menu but its basic older functions are more better what to do and how not familiar with these stuff plz help……
