How to Update Sony Xperia Ion with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean via Paranoid Android ROM

Sony Xperia Ion can now be updated with Paranoid Android ROM based on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. The ROM will bring full Jelly Bean update along with long list of features for your Sony Xperia Ion. You can install ParanoidAndroid Android 4.1.2 Jelly on Sony Xperia Ion using the tutorial below. Please make sure your Sony Xperia Ion Bootloader is unlocked. This not an official release by Google/ Sony, but just a custom which would require a custom recovery like ClockworkMod Recovery in order to install the ROM on your phone.

Measures to take before Updating your device:

Step 5: You should disable security apps and programs like Antivirus and Firewall on your Android device as they may interrupt the procedure.

Step 1: First of all, download ROM Manager App from Google Play Store on your Droid Bionic and install the same.

Step 2: Now, open ROM Manager App and tap on “Reboot into Recovery” for booting your device into Recovery Mode.

Step 3: Select “Wipe Data/Factory Reset”, “Wipe Cache” and “Wipe Dalvik Cache” to delete all the cache data’s present on your phone.

Step 4: Next, main recovery menu select “install zip from sdcard” and then select “choose zip from sdcard” and then select the “Android 4.1.2 JellyBeer Jelly Bean ROM” file you have placed on the SD Card.

Step 5: As soon as the installation procedure has completed, repeat the same procedure for flashing the “Google Apps Package” also.

Step 6: Lastly, select “+++++Go Back+++++” and then select “reboot system now” to reboot your phone.
