Step 5: You should disable security apps and programs like Antivirus and Firewall on your Android device as they may interrupt the procedure.

How to Unlock Bootloader on Sony Xperia Z [C660x] and Sony Xperia ZL [C650x]:
Step 1: First of all, go to “Sony Mobile’s Unlock Bootloader Page” and read everything there.
Step 2: Now, scroll to the bottom of the page and then click “Start Unlocking the Bootloader”.
- First, you should get confirmed that it is possible to unlock the Bootloader of your phone by checking the service menu. To get the service menu, in your phone open the dialer and enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu.
- In your phone, tap on “Service info > configuration > Rooting Status”. If Bootloader unlock allowed says “Yes”, then you can proceed with the next step. If it says “No” or if the status is missing, then your device cannot be unlocked.
Step 3: As soon you have verified that your device can be unlocked, scroll to the bottom of the page and then click on “Continue”.
Step 4: Now, you will see numerous prompts, read all info and if you agree then click on “Accept”/ “OK”/ “Proceed”.
Step 5: Finally you will get a “Create Unlock Request” page, enter your IMEI (sometimes the last digit needs to be removed for this to work), name and email ID.
Step 6: Now, you should receive your unique unlock key via email, just save this key in a safe and convenient location.
Step 7: Extract the “Fastboot Package with USB Drivers” into a folder and then open the folder.
Step 8: Now, hold “Shift” button and then “Right-click” on the background of the folder and then click on “Open command prompt here”.
Step 9: Next, connect your respective phone in Fastboot mode (turn your phone off, hold the Volume Up button and plug in the USB cable) to the PC.
Step 10: Now, in the command prompt window type the command that follows:
fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version
Step 11: If you get a value (it should return 0.5), it means your phone is correctly connected.
Step 12: Now, again in the command prompt window type in the command that follows:
fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xKEY
(Here KEY should be replaced with the key you received earlier in your email ID)
That’s it! The Bootloader of your device should be unlocked by now.
How to Root Sony Xperia Z [C660x] and Sony Xperia ZL [C650x]:
Step 1: Reboot your phone so as to enter it in Bootloader Mode.
Step 2: Now, open command prompt window and type in the command that follows to flash “CF-Auto-Root Kernel”.
fastboot flash boot Z_DooMLoRD_CF-Auto-Root-ported_FW-350.img (For Sony Xperia Z C660X)
fastboot flash boot rooting-kernel.img (For Sony Xperia ZL C650X)
Step 3: Next, type in the command that follows:
Step 4: Your device will now start booting and you will get an indication on screen displaying “Device will reboot in 10 seconds”.
Step 5: After CF-Auto-Root reboots your device once, disconnect USB cable and do hard power off. (Disconnect USB cable and then press Power button and then keep Volume Up button pressed for 15 seconds)
Step 6: Now, connect your device in Fastboot Mode and flash stock kernel by typing in the command that follows in the command prompt window:
fastboot flash boot Z_DooMLoRD_insecure_FW-350.img (For Sony Xperia Z C660X)
fastboot flash boot stock-kernel.img (For Sony Xperia ZL C650X)
Step 7: Next, reboot your device by typing in the command that follows and your device will boot into the main screen:
Step 8: Now, you can install Busybox installer from Play Store and install it in the location “/system/xbin/”.
