Download Android SDK, Fastboot, Z_DooMLoRD_CF-Auto-Root-Ported _FW-350.img and Z_DooMLoRD_insecure_FW-350.img from here to your computer. Install Android SDK and set it up with downloading platform-tools and USB drivers package in SDK. Extract the Fastboot package in “android-sdk-windowsplatform-tools” location. Also, save the “Z_DooMLoRD_insecure_FW-350.img” file in the “android-sdk-windowsplatform-tools” location.
How to Root Sony Xperia Z:
Step 1: Reboot your phone so as to enter it in Bootloader Mode/ Fastboot Mode. Navigate to “android-sdk-windowsplatform-tools” location and open Command Prompt Window there. To open Command Window there, press “Shift + Right Click” and then click on “Open Command prompt”.
Step 2: Now, connect your phone to the PC using original USB cable.
Step 3: Next, type the command that follows:
adb reboot Bootloader
(Press “Enter” after writing the command)
Step 4: Soon your device will reboot into Bootloader/ Fastboot Mode.
Step 5: Now, to flash “Z_DooMLoRD_CF-Auto-Root-Ported _FW-350.img” on your PC, type the command that follows in the command prompt window and then press enter:
fastboot flash boot z_DooMLoRD_CF-Auto-Root-ported_FW-350.img
Step 6: Next, you have to reboot the Fastboot Mode by typing in the command that follows in the command prompt window:
Step 7: You will see a message saying, “Device will reboot in 10 seconds” on your device, wait until your device has been rebooted.
Step 8: When you phone has rebooted, unplug your device from PC and switch it OFF forcefully by pressing and holding the Power and Volume Up button together for 15 seconds.
Step 9: Next, press and hold the Volume Up button and simultaneously connect it to the computer again using the original USB cable, just keep holding the Volume Up button until the device enters in Fastboot Mode.
Step 10: Now, you will have to install the stock kernel file “Z_DooMLoRD_insecure_FW-350.img” on your Xperia Z. To do so, open Fastboot again and type the command that follows in the command prompt window:
fastboot flash boot z_DooMLoRD_insecure_FW-350.img
Step 11: Next, type the command that follows in the command prompt window to reboot your Xperia Z:
