What to do before installing ROM or Rooting your device?

Step 2: You should also Backup all apps, if you have not rooted your device yet then follow this procedure to backup apps. If you have a rooted device then use Titanium to Backup and restore apps and cache data.

Step 4: Always check your battery before performing rooting procedure or installing ROM. If you have low battery status then you may face interruption while the procedure and it may brick your device. Check our tutorial on how to get battery percentage on Status bar.
Step 5: If you are going to install Custom ROM then it’s better to create a full Nandroid Backup of your device. You can also use Custom recovery to create Nandroid backup.
Step 6: We would also suggest disabling security apps and programs like Antivirus and Firewall on your Android device as it may interrupt the procedure.

Download SP Flash Tool, Rooting Package, Unlock Root Tool and MTK Drivers Package from here to your computer. Extract the MTK drivers package into a folder onto your desktop and install the same by double-clicking on “InstallDriver.exe” file. Now, extract the Rooting package into a folder to get the files namely: “boot.img” and “A45 scatter file”.
Procedure to Root Micromax A45:
Step 1: First of all, flash boot.img and A45 scatter file using SP flash tool.
Step 2: As soon as the flashing procedure has completed, reboot your device by re-inserting the battery.
Step 3: Now, turn ON and connect it to the PC via original USB cable i.e. the cable that came with it.
Step 4: Next, open the Unlock root program in your PC.
Step 5: Now, click on the big green root button for rooting the device. If the app prompts for the ADB drivers installation, accept the same and install by following the on screen instructions.
Step 6: As soon as the rooting procedure has completed, your device will reboot automatically. If you get any prompt then click on “Yes” to check on whether your phone is rooted or not.
Step 7: You can also download Root Checker app from the Play Store to check whether your phone has been rooted or not.
