How to Root LG Optimus 4X HD [How to Tutorial]

LG Optimus 4X HD was launched  in February 2012 but lastly came to market in June 2012. A Quad core 1.5Ghz Processor with GeForce GPU made it famous and grabbed lots of customers in the first month only. We will be talking about the Rooting Processor of Optimus 4X HD here. This is a stable working Rooting Solution for Optimus 4X HD that uses the HTC One X Rooting utility to break into the system and gain SuperUser access. I assure that this is a safe and stable Root procedure already tested by many 4X HD users.

LG USB Driver .zip file. Grab it here.

 HTC One X Rootkit. It’s filename will be “onxr.zip”[Extract it to a folder on Desktop]

IS11LG_SystemBackupTest.signed.apk[copy this file to Phone's storage]

Pre-Requisite

1. Enable USB debugging on your phone. Go to settings>>Developer options and enable the USB debug checkbox. Also go to settings>>Security and enable Unknown Sources checkbox.

2.  Install the LG Driver on your PC.

3. Create Backup of all essential data like contacts, settings, files, photos and videos.

4. Charge your device to atleast 60% to ensure that everything goes well while following the procedure.

 

How to root LG Optimus 4X HD:

Step 1: Copy IS11LG_SystemBackupTest.signed.apk to root of the phone’s SD card by connecting phone to PC in USB storage Mode.

Step 2: open File explorer on phone and browse where you copied the file. Open the file and install it. You can use apps like Apk Manager as well to install the file.

Step 3: After installation finishes go ahead and restart your phone by pressing power button. You will experience a little laggy interface after rebooting, its normal.

Step 4: Connect your phone to computer and wait for the driver to install. Now, right click the root file[Extracted from onxr.zip] and select “Run as administrator.

Step 5: It will take few minutes and the phone will reboot for 3-4 times while rooting procedure. Do not disconnect the phone while this procedure. Once the process completes the Root.exe command window will close automatically.

Step 6: Now, open Play store on phone and install “SuperSU” app. Open SuperSU and it will ask for Binary update. Go ahead and this will get you final permanent root on your Optimus 4X HD.

Step 7: Go ahead and uninstall the SystemBackup test app we installed in step 2.

You LG Optimus 4X HD is fully rooted now and you can restart the phone to make a new start. I would suggest installing Titanium Backup and create a backup of all your App.
