Acer Liquid is a great device, you will just need to root and install Custom ROM to unleash it power. We have bought a detailed tutorial to root and install LiquidNext Custom ROM. LiquidNext are recognized developer on XDA as well as RootzWiki. They have created this ROM on Android 2.3.4. They have put in their best effort to make hardware work and the mobile remain fast and battery backup is good.
update: Liquid Next ROM was recently updated top Liquid Next version 1.8 with some added features. ADW is now default launcher, there are both meta and stock camera apps. There is a big list of enhancement. The final report and user reviews says that liquid next is most stable CyanogenMod ROM for Acer phone now. They are planning to launch version 1.9 very soon with much better and smooth interface.
- In this process, you need to have a Windows based Computer with Microsoft .NET framework 2.0 or higher installed in it. If it is not there, you can download and install it from here – for 32 bit or 64 bit.
- Then you need to download and install ‘Super one click’.
- You must also enable your USB Debugging. Get there by following the path ‘Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging’.
- Take the backup of all the data present in your device to the SD card.
How to Root Acer Liquid:
Step 1. Connect your device with the Computer with your USB cable.
Step 2. Launch the Super one click and click on ‘Root’.
Step 3. Now, wait until it finishes and you can see a super user icon on your apps drawer.
Installing Clockwork Recovery:
Step 1. Click on the link to download.
Step 2. When you open this application, you need to click on flash recovery. Here, you have to select the model of the phone and wait until it finishes. If it asks for super user permission then grant the access to it.
Step 3. Now, you have been enabled with Clockwork recovery on your device.
How to install LiquidNext ROM on Acer Liquid:
Step 1. Go to the LiquidNext’s Official website and download the image or zip file.
Step 2. Then, copy that downloaded zip file to the root of the SD card.
Step 3. Then, turn off your device and reboot it to enter into a Recovery mode by pressing Camera button, volume button and power button simultaneously.
Step 4. Now, launch the ROM manager and hit on Reboot Recovery.
Step 5. When you get into the custom recovery image, create a Nandroid backup.
Step 6. Then, you need to select ‘wipe data / factory reset’ and ‘wipe cache partition’ to wipe your cache. Also, select ‘Dalvik Cache’ under advanced option.
Step 7. Then you have to select ‘install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard’ to flash the zip file, in order to install new custom ROM. The process may take few minutes (about 7-10 min).
Step 8. After the completion of the installation process, select ‘+++Go Back+++’ and then ‘reboot system now’ option to restart your device and see the changes in it.
