CyanogenMod (CM 10)10 Alpha Build based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for AT&T Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket was developed by XDA developer forum member sk8erwitskil. This brings many new features and smooth interface as well as animations with voice search function. AT&T Skyrocket is running Jelly Bean firmware very well. But the ROM is still in alpha stage and has some bugs like YouTube videos can’t switch to landscape mode, camera not working and more bugs are expected. Developers are trying to mend the ROM and it would take 1-2 weeks for a stable ROM to arrive.
Things working with this ROM:
- busybox and root
Things not working with this ROM:
- all other things
Compatibility: This tutorial and ROM is only compatible with the AT&T Galaxy S2 Skyrocket SGH-i727 and is not compatible with other US variants of Galaxy S2, other devices or with Epic 4G Touch device. You can confirm your device model number through the path Settings > About phone.
Warning! The method we are discussing here is risky one and you must not attempt it if you don’t have fair knowledge of it. In case, your Samsung device stops responding then neither we nor the developer would be held liable for it.
- Just ensure that your Skyrocket is having ClockworkMod (CWM) recovery installed. Also, install touch CWM on it.
- This process needs backup of their data such as Bookmarks, Contacts, SMS, Call Logs, APN and MMS settings, etc. This backup process is necessary to save them from wiping.
- Just follow the mentioned path ‘Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging’ on your AT&T Galaxy S2 Skyrocket to enable the USB Debugging option.
- May be you don’t want your device to turn off during the process due to silly power issues. So, it is recommended to have a minimum battery life of 70%.
- You need to disable the security suites such as anti-virus or firewall from your Skyrocket or Computer to avoid interruption
