Talk to Google now
With voice commands over Google Now, you can also operate your phone without touch, but before that you have to activate Google Now, to activate it swipe from left to right on your home screen or say “OK Google” just like you will say “OK Glass” for Google glass. There is only a problem that, by default this only works if you’re in the United States but never fear though as you can unlock this for yourself. To do this just press and hold on an empty space on your home screen, then go to Settings and then Voice in the menu that appears. From there, change the language setting at the top to ‘English US’ and ensure that hot word detection is enabled and lastly head back to the home screen, and you are done.
Activation of developer’s option
The owners of Nexus 5 can uncover a mystery and useful place, and for this one have to Go to Settings, About Phone, and then tap on the Build Number entry seven times. After this you will see a ‘Congratulations, you’re now a developer!’ message and this gives you many new things to do.
Unlock, root and install a custom recovery or ROM on your device
If you want to try out new ROMs, run rooted apps or have recovery software installed on your device then you’ll need to do a bit of work. It is not so simple but there’s a helpful piece of software called Nexus Root Toolkit which will make it much easier for you. If you want to do that then visit Nexus 5 root tutorial.

Launch camera quickly
Before the release of Nexus 5 we knew that the phone has a Quick camera launch button on its lock screen just as the iPhone. If you want to launch the camera from your lock screen just swipe to the right and it’s done.
